UNIVERSAL ONRYŌ

12.000,00€Preis

"A spirit without a face, but a heart. It mirrors you — it tests your stance."

UNIVERSAL ONRYŌ is not a vengeful spirit. It is a transformed field of energy. The body is constructed from knotted parcel cord. The knot refers to the Japanese principle of „Musubi“ — the spiritual act of binding, connecting, and bringing forces into relation. A knot does not merely fix; it stores tension, transition, and memory. Each knot marks a condensed moment of energy.

From this network of knots emerges a humanoid form. The posture recalls spiritual iconography — arms extended, presence elevated — yet it claims no religious identity. The essence of the Onryō, traditionally a restless ghost, is recharged here in white: not as revenge, but as consciousness. White does not signify innocence; it marks transformation. Energy after combustion.

At the center of the chest lies a red heart. It is the energetic core of the figure. While the head reflects, the heart feels. It distinguishes reflection from moral presence.

The head consists of a disco ball. It has no face, no expression. Instead, it reflects space, viewers, and light. When struck by colored light, it fragments the room into moving constellations. UNIVERSAL ONRYŌ does not project — it returns.

From its back extend 23 red strands. They function simultaneously as halo, disco rays, and energetic aura. When stretched across space, they form a field resembling a web — not as a trap, but as extension. The figure becomes the center of a tension system.

UNIVERSAL ONRYŌ does not judge. It does not haunt. It does not punish. It reflects — and carries a heart at its core.

UNIVERSAL ONRYŌ is part of the upcoming exhibition BETROGENER TRAUM and belongs to AREA 06 — Clarity & Action.
