BRIGHT FIXED FACE

7.500,00€Preis

"Pinned in place by invisible holds, truth tears through a stretched surface."

BRIGHT FIXED FACE unfolds as a tightly stretched red membrane: painted silk paper over styrofoam, folded, strained, wounded. The surface behaves like skin held too long under pressure – a fixed face unable to hide its tension.

The silk paper is not really glued. It is loosely pinned to the edges with transparent thumbtacks. The structure is visible – yet attempts to disappear. What holds the surface together tries not to be seen.

The folds oscillate between curtain and wound: a sacred red asserting authority while already tearing. At the center, a pale rupture emerges — not an eye, not a mouth, but a discharge. Light does not enter. It breaks outward.

The styrofoam support is soft, porous, unstable. The work appears monumental, yet rests on fragile matter and inserted tension. Nothing is sealed. Nothing is permanent.

Here betrayal is not depicted — it is constructed. A system held together by discreet fixation points. A surface moments before collapse.

BRIGHT FIXED FACE marks the instant when the facade fails and truth slices through illusion. Not a portrait. An exposure.

BRIGHT FIXED FACE is part of the upcoming exhibition BETROGENER TRAUM and belongs to AREA 02 — Shock.
