DO NOT OPEN

DO NOT OPEN is a work about curiosity. And about the weakness of wanting to be stronger than it.

The front is raw, directly labeled: DO NOT OPEN.
A prohibition. Which instantly becomes an invitation.

 

The cardboard is deliberate — honest, vulnerable, unpretentious. "THE HONEST SURFACE". A boundary made of something ordinary. It hides nothing — except what you project onto it.

 

Inside lies a fully tissue-lined chamber. Delicate. Almost sacred. LED light escapes through narrow cracks — whispering, alive. You see fragments. Never the whole.

In truth, the work is a large-scale triptych. But to see it, the wax seal must be broken. BECKERs fingerprint holds the decision.

Whoever opens it gives a butterfly its wings.
Something is released.
Something becomes visible.

But in that same moment, it is clear:
You were not strong enough to resist.

 

The artwork does not happen inside. It happens in the struggle before.

Do I break the seal — or do I endure?
Do I need to know everything — or can I live without knowing?

And if you choose to open it —
then own it. Let the triptych hang in your living room.
It’s message will stay with you for the rest of your life.

 

DO NOT OPEN is not an object.
It is a test of integrity.
