WE ARE DOTS

2.500,00 €Preis

"We are not lines. We are dots — with an open center."

WE ARE DOTS does not begin with an image — it begins with a surface.

Styrofoam is not noble. It is industrial, fragile, lightweight. Its skin consists of countless tiny craters and compressed beads — a pre-existing micro-topography.

BECKER does not conceal this structure. He follows it. Dot by dot, color enters the indentations. No grid. No underdrawing. Each mark is a decision. A minimal impulse. Through repetition, order emerges — not imposed, but accumulated.

Up close, the field feels restless, almost electric. But when light moves across the surface, the dots begin to flow. The structure appears alive. Not static, but responsive.

From a distance, the field condenses into a calm chromatic body. At its center, a large open void remains untouched. It is physically present — and conceptually radical.

What stands behind it?

In installation terms, it reveals the wall. On a meta level, it reveals a question: Is identity an accumulation — or does it require an unfilled core?

WE ARE DOTS suggests that identity is not drawn in lines but built from micro-acts. We are not contours. We are constellations. And sometimes the center remains open — not empty, but unresolved.

WE ARE DOTS is part of the upcoming exhibition BETROGENER TRAUM and belongs to AREA 03 — Construction.
